My experience mirrors that of many travelers: from initial research to receiving the vaccination took about a month. This timeline isn’t unusual, because specialized vaccination centers often have limited appointments. And remember that the vaccine itself needs time to become effective (10 days minimum before travel).
Give it a bit time before the departure date: this is a live virus injection your immune system has to get a handle on. Your body might react, in my case I had 2 days of quite intense fever coming about two days after the jab, and felt quite exhausted for about a week. It was good I didn’t have to travel in these days…
The vaccination must be administered at WHO-approved centers, typically found at tropical medicine institutes or specialized travel vaccination clinics. Don’t expect your regular doctor to have this vaccine readily available.

It gives you unlimited entries in the time of its validity, and you can stay for 90 days maximum for every stay. The additional documentation requirements (past travels to Uganda, police clearance, recommendation letters) reflect its extended validity and multiple-entry privileges.
You’re not allowed to work or volunteer in Uganda with any of these visa – in that case you should ask your contact in Uganda or agent to support you in the visa process.
